Tango for Musicians in Europe Leipzig 2024

It was an unforgettable week, where camaraderie, collaboration, and the creation of new music took center stage. This edition featured a groundbreaking format with 5 different orchestras exploring everything from Pugliese's repertoire to a large orchestra ensemble, including guitar, wind, and string groups, among others. We were also thrilled to have a resident ensemble comprised of the most advanced musicians, who rehearsed throughout the week and premiered new arrangements and compositions by Christian Nau, Norbert Kotzan, Sonia Jacoben, and Heiner Koehnen—participants of the Arrangers & Composers online course.

Our esteemed teaching staff included Paulina Fain, Exequiel Mantega, Guillermo Rubino, Sebastián Henríquez, Pablo Jaurena, Ignacio Varchausky, Juan Villarreal and the collaboration of Judy Ruks for our enthusiast track program.

Each night, the Jam sessions turned into lively celebrations, where musicians could play, improvise, sing, and enjoy a good drink with newfound friends. The week culminated in a concert-party-marathon at the stunning Schaubhüne Lindenfelds Theatre,where the over 80 participating musicians and faculty perfomed. The orchestras filled the theater with live music from 8:00 p.m. until 2:30 a.m., while the community of dancers and tango enthusiasts filled the stalls and then took to the dance floor. It was truly a party to remember—until next time!
